Implant related infections remain one of the greatest challenges in orthopaedics and trauma surgery. This symposium will focus on the diagnosis and therapy of fracture related infections (FRI) as well as periprosthetic infections (PJI). Part of the conference will cover infections of native joints without implants.

Goal
In this workshop, modern concepts for management of implant-associated infections will be presented, based on current knowledge and scientific evidence. After its correct implementation, this concept can significantly improve the eradication of infection and lead to better functional outcome and improve the quality of life.
Structure
The lectures will introduce the complex topics of implant related infections including fracture related (FRI) and periprosthetic infections (PJI), as well as septic arthritis (SA), and the specific questions and tricky FRI and PJI cases will then be discussed. Discussions will be moderated by internationally known experts in the management of bone and joint infections. All participants are encouraged to present and discuss own cases.
