An open position as MTA/Research Assistant

The PRO-IMPLANT Foundation is recruiting for an open position as MTA/Research Assistant in the research group (AG Trampuz) at the Charité – University Medicine Berlin.

 

Your field of activity:

Our research group investigates new methods for detection (diagnostics) and treatment (eradication) of microbial biofilms on various biomaterials and implants. New antibiotics, pharmacokinetics, efficacy and resistance development are investigated in vitro and in animal models. The aim of the research is to develop innovative and effective concepts for treatment of patients with implant infections.

Responsibilities:

  • Organization of research work (procurement of consumables, maintenance of equipment, accounting, administrative management).
  • Planning and design of animal experiments (guinea pigs).
  • Provide technical advice and support to research assistants (PhD students) and master students in their research work.
  • Active participation in scientific discussions and congresses

Knowledge:

  • Handling of biosafety level 2 pathogenic microorganisms (identification, susceptibility testing, microscopy).
  • Experience with animal experiments (drug administration, collection of body fluids, surgical procedures)
  • Experience with molecular methods (PCR) is an advantage
  • Knowledge of the German and English language in word and writing
  • Organizational talent, ability to work in a team, communication skills, social skills
  • Interest in development of new techniques and methods
  • Good PC skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Requirements:

  • Completed training as MTA and comparable education
  • Experience in medical microbiology and with animal experiments

Working hours:

  • Full or part-time weekly working hours (by arrangement).

Remuneration:

  • under consideration of personal requirements, according to TV of Charité.

The grouping takes place under consideration of the personal requirements according to pay group E9 of the pay structure to the TV-Charité, with …39… weekly working hours, initially limited for 1 year .
